An accident, injury or illness can detour your travel plans in an instant. When you need it most, Good Sam TravelAssist is there to help – providing vital emergency medical benefits usually not included in health insurance plans.
Medical Transportation
Emergency Medical Evacuation. You arrive at the nearest hospital hurt or sick. But what if that facility can’t provide the care you need? Rely on TravelAssist to get you to the care you need - at no cost to you.
Transportation Home After Stabilization. Recover near friends and family. Once your condition is stabilized, TravelAssist arranges and pays for your return home or to a nearby medical facility.
Ground Ambulance Aid. Even basic ambulance transportation can be costly. TravelAssist reimburses you – up to $200 – if an emergency requires ambulance service.
Medical Support
Emergency Medical Monitoring. Contact us about an emergency and TravelAssist immediately assigns a medical expert to monitor your treatment. Locating medical records, contacting family, organizing transportation – TravelAssist handles the details, so you can focus on recovery.
Dispatch Of A Medical Specialist. What if your injury or illness makes medical transport difficult? If we are unable to help you by telephone and your condition requires, TravelAssist will dispatch a doctor or other medical specialist to come to you – anywhere in the world.
Medical Referrals. Even if your medical emergency isn’t serious, finding qualified caregivers isn’t easy when away from home. Contact TravelAssist to identify nearby doctors, dentists, emergency rooms and even attorneys.
Good Sam TravelAssist is not medical insurance. While you will be supported with the aforementioned services, your regular health insurance will cover the costs of your medical care.
To be eligible for these benefits, your trip must be for reasons other than medical and travel must be outside of your daily routine.
FAMILY BENEFITS – TRAVELASSIST
Even if you’re sick or hurt, you still have concerns about loved ones. No need to worry: Good Sam TravelAssist also protects your family during an emergency away from home.
Return Home Of Traveling Companion. Your spouse, friend or travel companion will never be left stranded! When you’re being moved – due to medical evacuation– TravelAssist also provides return transport for your companion. When possible, your companion travels along with you; otherwise, economy-class transportation is arranged at no cost to you.
Dependent Children Returned Home. The safety of your children or grandchildren is always a primary concern. In case of emergency away from home, TravelAssist will pay for the safe return home for minors on your trip, via a reliable carrier in economy-class. If too young to travel alone, we also arrange for an adult to accompany them.
Transportation to Join A Hospitalized Member. Feel better with family by your side. TravelAssist arranges for a family member or friend to join you, when your condition keeps you hospitalized away from home for seven days or longer. We also pay for their return upon your recovery.
Emergency Message Relay. In an emergency situation, alerting friends, family and even your hometown doctor isn’t always easy. TravelAssist offers a toll-free, 24-hour message relay service to keep everyone informed.
Return of Deceased Remains Caring for your family includes preparation for the worst-case scenario. TravelAssist manages and pays the cost for returning your remains home from anywhere in the world.

TRAVEL BENEFITS – TRAVELASSIST

RV/Vehicle Return. One of the most utilized benefits! If an accident or illness prevents you from driving home – and a travel companion can’t do it – TravelAssist gets your vehicle back home safely. We arrange and pay for a professional driver to return your vehicle, no matter what the distance.
Prescription Replacement. Who hasn’t forgotten a prescription on a trip? No matter if forgotten, lost or stolen, TravelAssist coordinates immediate replacement of your prescriptions – plus eyeglasses, contact lenses or medical devices. Actual cost of replacement is the responsibility of the Member at the time of service.
Lost Items Assistance A stolen passport or lost luggage can ruin a trip. No worries with TravelAssist -we help in locating or replacing passports, visas and luggage, through our worldwide network of travel resources. Associated fees and replacement costs are the Member’s responsibility at the time of service.
Emergency Cash Transfers And Medical Payments. Medical emergencies often carry unexpected expenses. When a provider won’t accept your insurance… your checkbook is lost … or you don’t have enough money on hand, TravelAssist provides unlimited cash advances to cover emergency medical payments. All we ask is that your guarantee repayment with a valid credit card.
Language Interpretation.Don’t let language barriers get in the way of proper medical treatment. Call the special number on the reverse side of your TravelAssist Membership Card and our multi-lingual team facilitates timely and accurate communication between you and the medical team.
Pre-Trip Assistance. Make planning easier for an upcoming trip. Contact TravelAssist prior to leaving to get accurate information for your specific destination including passport and visa requirements, consulate and embassy locations, climate and weather conditions and vaccination requirements.
Personal Security.Even with the best made plans, civil unrest, natural disaster and environmental concerns may call for prompt action. Whether traveling domestically or internationally, TravelAssist provides the latest alerts and advisories – and even arranges emergency evacuation when needed. Associated fees are the Member's responsibility at the time of service.
